Celebrate!
Written by Jared Capello
One of the greatest keys toward forward progress lies in the art of celebration. Whether it’s winning a championship or taking one tiny step toward a lifelong dream, it is worth celebrating. I know for many celebrating small things seems like a complete waste of time but the reason for celebrating the small things is not in praise of completing a small task nor is to simply rejoice in waking up early one day out of seven. The point of celebrating small achievements is to build momentum.
I often hear many of the successful people that I have met or follow say that the key to success lies in the accomplishment of the little things day in and day out. It’s easy to look at people who have “arrived” from our point of view and think that their success just kind of happened through one big break or by being in the right place at the right time. This is almost never the case. I hear so many stories that their breakthrough came because of what happened behind closed doors day after day, night after night by spending more time in the gym, studying longer than anyone else or by consistently devoting time daily to complete a personal, 5 year project.
Success lies in consistency and when you celebrate your small achievements you begin to reward your behavior. Herein lies the key to effectively hijacking your mind and restructuring the neuropathways in your brain for the better! The reward given is positive reinforcement for the behavior which in turn creates a desire for more of this behavior.
This practice of celebration can be done in any area of your life. If you’re not in a relationship and want to be, perhaps you decide to call a friend, purchase those new shoes and go out tonight instead of staying in and watching Netflix by yourself. Regardless of what happens, celebrate the fact that you went against what would not bring you closer to your desire by staying in and that you took action in a little way simply by going out and telling yourself, the world and Source that you know what you want and you are ready to get it!
If you’re struggling with accomplishing anything in your life, perhaps it’s time to start a new practice of celebrating your achievements no matter how great or small so that you can have more in your life and ultimately become more successful.
I want to issue a challenge to you this week:
If I can help you or a loved one in any way, shape or form it would be my greatest joy to do so! Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me via e-mail, Instagram or Facebook. And, you can always schedule a Relational Breakthrough Session by clicking HERE.

I want to issue a challenge to you this week:
- Decide every morning what one thing you are going to celebrate for the day.
- Write it down.
- Later that night, see if you were intentional about celebrating what you said you were going to. If you weren’t, there’s no shame!
- Go for it again tomorrow and don’t give up on it just because you missed it once. Your yesterday does not have to determine your today and your today does not have to determine your tomorrow. Build off of the successes and learn from the failures.
