Inner Stillness
The answers can always be found in the Stillness. There is always outside noise, but your soul meets the Stillness and finds peace. You set aside all external distractions to listen, and then hear the still small voice. This voice is You, this voice is God.
In our circus of a society, it is crucial to set aside intentional times to sit at this
alter. If not, there is much in the abundant life that will be missed out on.
Your mind often silences the real you, so you must be still so it knows when to
rest. Slow and deepen your breath into the tense areas of your body and feels your mind and body relax.
As you learn to calm your system, you can tune into a different
frequency that carries higher information-- wisdom coming from another
realm. Listen intently, but be at ease. Be patient. Stillness cannot be rushed,
and is not a practice to simply check off your to do list. Learn to crave
Stillness. Befriend it. Bow to it in reverence.
Set your phone aside more often. Find a place in the house
to stash it away. Go for walks, drives, and poops without it. Feel okay with
being bored. This is a wonderfully challenging spiritual practice for the
modern man. Your nervous system craves down time, or else it will eventually
fry. At first, it is helpful to sit and be still. Over time, you will have easier access to Stillness and eventually it will simply be who you are.
Nature is the best place to be in Stillness. Spend as much
time in nature as you are able. We come from Nature, we are Nature. Get back to
your roots. Notice the Stillness amidst the chaos. She is wild, but She is also at rest.
Inner peace comes from cultivating inner Stillness. There
will always be things in the outside world trying to steal your peace. If you
do not foster inner Stillness, you will attempt to get it by manipulating and
controlling the people and circumstances in your life. This never works and
will cause you much suffering.
On occasion, make it a regular practice to place yourself in
uncomfortable situations to measure your degree of inner peace. Are you able to
stay connected to Stillness during challenging times? A man who has fostered
inner Stillness will feel different to those around him. He feels grounded,
trustworthy, and secure. He moves slowly and methodically with intention
through his life, being clear on his purpose without acting in haste.
