Walk In Humility
By Jared Capello
In a world where loud takes too much precedence, can you stand and make lasting impact through the quiet? Can you be still in your knowing while others walk around praising themselves? Can you effectively give credit where credit is due and watch someone else get the accolades? If you can do these things, then I believe you have some very essential components to lead effectively and impact well beyond your immediate sphere.
Humility is not having a low opinion of yourself, but rather a proper opinion of yourself; An opinion of yourself that invokes confidence and love from an honest place of truth. When you’re connected to that reality of your identity and walk it out with grace, you get humility. You get someone who is absent of ego, of their need to prove themselves, and someone who is attractive, that you would want to follow.
The humble lead well because they live well. The humility mindset recognizes that life’s greatest joy is in giving and doesn’t look to be praised for doing so. Giving to get isn’t giving and the humble know this. It’s this very truth that sets them apart from the crowd and gives the “aware” pause when recognized.
The best influencers live from a place of humility. Whether you’re in the corporate world or a stay at home mom, you are a leader. You have impressionable eyes on you.
And here’s the deal with humility: it’s often considered the “long game” approach but it’s also the best way to live. There is no attachment in humility and therein lies unconditional love and true freedom. When you decide to live in and walk out humility, the only thing seemingly "long" about it is your fulfillment. The humble know and recognize that for every corner cut, there is a negative consequence coming. It may not be seen right away and most show up in what we call, character flaws.
A short cut may get you somewhere faster but if it costs you your humility, the price is too great. Trust that the right door will open for you and that your way of humility, is the best way.
